Metallica, the BAND of hard rock will set foot in the tiny community of Jonschwil, in the beautiful Toggenburg area this Sunday, August 17th, 2008.

Just got back from Whistler and the ridiculous prices of this fab ressort.Everyone is either an Aussie or a Kiwi and all they ever say is DUDE!!!A great place for a brew and a burger is the Whistler Brew house. They have a wicked Hefe Weissen and while you are at the bar, look up where the drinks are and have a look all those name tags beside the beers. No one could explain why those names where up there....

The most wicked part of the trip was a day of extreme biking on the mountain!

Lausanne Trip

Just finished uploading the pictures from our trip through the Western part of Switzerland.

The first day consisted of visiting the town of Montreux, Chateau Chillon and Gruyeres.

Starting off in Montreux, we decided to go get a view of the town via the grand terrace of the Montreux Palace Hotel

As we wanted to drink something, we asked the waiter to bring us a menu. Out of pure disinterest the waiter never returned with a bar menu, so we left and headed to a great little bistrot down by the water. Talk about NO SERVICE in Swiss Hotels!!!

Next stop was 5 minutes down the road and the beautiful castle of Chillon. As Shaun and Tudor were not in the mood for touring a castle, Adrian, Sarah and myself went to explore the humonguous castle.

The best part of our trip was going afterwards to Gruyeres, the region were the famous cheese is made. Here we had a meal of Double Creme and some sampling of the Gruyeres Cheeses.

To top the day off we explored the old town of Gruyeres with brief walk around the castle and a drink in the coolest, not to be missed bar in Switzerland- the Giger Museum and Bar. The inventor of such movies as Aliens has the coolest way of presenting his version of the future.

We also went to Mont Blanc and had a very saucy Fondue, one that I don't we will forget very soon, right, Adrian!!!???

Chixdiggit, a Calgary home grown pop-punk band were the head liners at a small venue in the city of Winterthur, Switzerland.
For a band like Chixdiggit to still be playing after 13 years, this is a testament to a band that is all about fun and youthfulness. KJ, the lead singer pops about the stage as a kid who has Attention Deficit disorder. It is hard not to shake and bop to the lyrics as the band played an hour gig.

Have been way up NORTH these past few days, as I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful countryside of Norrbotten Lappland.

After 3 flights, I made it with my team to the Northern Town of Lulea, which is near the arctic circle for 3 fun filled days of activities revolving around SNOW and ICE.

With the temperature hovering at -10 degrees celcius , we were given Space aged suits to bundle ourselves into for the various activities. The first event revolved around driving different obstacle courses in rented cars on a lake. My favourite was the close cut course involving the use of your hand break to slide around the small orange cones. This was such a head rush .....

Other activities included snowmobiling, ice go carting and a beautiful dog sledding trip with 20 + riled up sled dogs.

As is the case every year, the local Geneva International Motor Show , was a raging success as cars of all shapes and sizes were trumpeted as the next big thing in the automotive world. My highlight of the Auto Show was the beautifully designed V8 Vantage Aston Martin . I took a picture of it up top just to show you the curves of this great machine.

Another fav of mine was the 2005 Mercedes SLR McLaren . The SLR looks like something out of a Batman movie as the doors rise up when you open the car.

Lastly, I checked out the Concept S Lamborghini , which had its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The Concept S is a prototype model and as reported on Carpages.co.uk will never go into production as it is titled a 'open cockpit vehicle'.

Anyone see anyother great cars worth mentioning here.....

After surfing through Yahoo Canada, my eye caught a banner advertisement of the Canadian Transport Security Authority . As you can see from the ad (See above=), Canadian's are to be educated on what and what they can't bring onboard. To check out the list of items which are permitted and not permitted, it is quite interesting to see what the Government officals decided as 'permitted objects' on airplanes.

Here is a list of all 'permitted objects' which can be checked in:

- Corkscrews, other than those with attched knives.(You might get thirsty midway through a flight, so what better way to drink your wine then to have a corksrew handy :)

-Knitting Needles (Yes, if Grandma needs these then the Canadian officials say it is ok! This could be a potential weapon! Duh....)

-Sports Raquets (such as tennis, squash and racquetball) (So this means that it is fully ok toclub someone during the flight!)

- Umbrellas, Walking Canes, Whips (!) (Can you imagine that whips are aloud on board? Who in heaven sits on the board of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority? S&M freaks or whip interest groups? You tell me....

It would be interesting to hear from other blogger's about the laws in their country on travelling. If you can take a whip onboard in Canada, what might you be able to take on board in Swaziland or the Cayman Islands.....

Just finished watching the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Tom Green's funny report from Texas. As I was surfing, I ended up on Tom's website and found that the patriotic Canuck has been busy snapping crazy video's of everything from talking to his mom on the Roamy Phone (check the link) or the Toilet Cleaner Man.

I decided to also try out Video Blogging and I just finished posting my first online Blog video courtesy of Videoaddon.com and am pleasently surprised at the ease of use of the site.

In other Blog News, Darren Barefoot's BLOG reports that Mybloglog.com is helping him see which links people are clicking. To Darren's amazement, his post on the Wikepedia Lloyd Axworthy link gets him alot of views. As I have tested with my post on PARIS HILTON , using 'famous' people does increase the clicks on your page :)

Now if I could only figure out how to get more clicks on the Google supported Ads which I have on my site, I would understand why some people are giving up their day jobs to blog....

SWISS HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYOFFS - SCB vs HCL - Game 2

5-2 win by Lugano over SCB, Game 2 - Series Tied 1-1

For all the hockey fans from the NHL who are pretty much watching daisies grow because of the non-existant contract negotiations, I had the chance to feast my eyes on the defending Swiss Hockey Champion, SCB . After getting off to an explosive start, the Luganese countered with a slew of goals , 4 to be exact in the second period, to the surprise of SCB.

The 16 000 plus, sellout crowd in the pyramid shaped ice arena was extremely quiet as SCB tried to get back into the game. There were hardly any passes which were utilized, moreover there was no muscle added in this critical 2nd game of the Playoffs. David Aebischer, the Colorado Goalie and Swiss native added muscle in the net, as he blocked a late rush by SCB in the third period.
With the win, HCLugano have Home advantage, which means that the next game will be in Lugano.

I just snapped a pic to show you all where the most of my hits are coming from. I can't belive it, even someone from Australia has been checking out the post on Paris Hilton. As per today, 28.5.2005, I have had a 155 hits, 30 unique users, and a decent click through rate. My theory on posting a Blog on Mrs. Hilton has stood the test and I am happy to say that beacause of Paris, my site has exploded in page views. I think it also has something to do with all the search engines I have visited, especially the local one, BesteLinks.ch , a buddies website here in Switzerland.

HI All

The BLOG has been getting some good visitor numbers since I last posted about my Trip to Fuerteventura to Surf.

I began however to wonder how I could attract more people to my site and that is when I read the fiasco over the T-Mobile Hacking into Paris Hilton's telephone . I was amazed at how rapidly the pictures notes and adresses of 'famous' people spread over the internet, only because Paris Hilton is the media darling of the moment. In the year 2004, Yahoo Search named Paris Hilton as the Most Searched person on the Internet

To find out if I too can attract as many people as Paris (Yes right, but let's try), I want to test a hypothesis of mine. By titling my Blog - PARIS HILTON - EXCLUSIVE PICTURES here , I want to prove that the regular Joe Blo, Blogger can also get some awesome Views and Stats on his Blog site. Just look at Nuevo's site and see for yourself.....

I will give an update to the number of visits I receive in the next 24 hrs and have a final posting of all the Stats by Saturday at Midninght.

(PS- I am not really a Fan of Paris Hilton, but I am more interested in seeing what kind of IP adresses check out my BLOG , so start clicking away.... )

Just got back from a very cool and windy holiday in Fuerteventura, one of the windiest islands of the Canary Islands. I was with my brother Eric, at the Ineika Surf Camp-
http://www.ineika.de/en/index.html , where SIGI, the founding father of Ineika welcomed us with his historic Land Rover. Apart from getting 2 real quality days in the salty water,the camp spirit is great as we even had a BBQ on Friday evening. For first timers like Eric and myself, Chris our instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful at coaching 2 tree hugging Canucks!
